She’s been her normal happy self! 

OUR HAPPY BABY IS BACK!

she is smiling and giggling and doing her little screaming thing. she’ll scream so loudly and stomp her little legs and flash us this huge smile. It’s like she’s excited about something. She’s excited about that tooth coming through.

Don’t worry baby girl,mommy and daddy are thrilled as well. That tooth has been killing her and bugging all of us for months now. we’re so glad its out. hopefully she’ll be like i was when i was a baby and although my teeth came in a little late and I teethed for longer they came in 1 after another. so after my first one popped through i had 3 or 4 more a short time later.

please baby girl,let you be like me in this factor. 

The tooth that has finally popped through is on the bottom right of her mouth. We don’t know if it’s a lower central incisor,which would be the right age for it,or a lower lateral incisor,which those don’t normally appear until 10-16 months. but since she won’t let me in to get a really good look i can’t tell of the exact placement. but we’ll find out when she gets her next tooth and compare places

Ah so excited for my baby’s first tooth :)

When did you mamas start using a tooth brush,like a finger one,on your babies? When their first tooth appeared or when they had a few?

Her naps were awful,actually non existent but through the night she was amazing. She slept from 7:30pm-2:30am,nursed then back to sleep until 5:30,her normal wakeup time. I think the key was that her dad gave her a 4 oz bottle of formula first then I nursed her the rest of the time. Pregnancy has dropped my supply even more and I’m already nursing her every 2 hours during the day so by bedtime I only have probably half the amount she wants/needs. Plus,her metabolism is SO fast and the formula really helps fill her up and keep her full because it has the extra calories she’s needing.

I hated the thought of fortifying with formula first but seeing how Kaitlyn is doing so much better,clearly gaining weight,happier,sleeping better and reaching milestones literally overnight I don’t mind anymore. We’re using organic formula so I feel a little less guilty about it but my daughter is happy,healthy and soaring in her growth mentally and physically. I’m doing my job right. 

I’m really hoping she’ll keep nursing throughout my pregnancy,even if it is just a little at a time because then by the time the new baby is here my supply will go way up again,for the newborn,and she’ll be able to nurse like she used to and we won’t have to wean before she’s really ready. I’m planning on pumping like crazy once my supply goes up from the new baby to stock up in the freezer for just in case tandem nursing doesn’t go as well as planned. Then,Kaitlyn can still have my breastmilk while the newborn nurses and the baby can have a bottle while Kaitlyn nurses at times,we really love nursing. It’s our favorite mommy-daughter activity. She told me herself :P

Also,does anyone know how the colustrum works when you’re already breastfeeding? Like if I don’t completely lose my supply,Kate keeps nursing throughout pregnancy,do I get colustrum in front of my foremilk? Or what? Since you get your colustrum BEFORE your milk comes in with your first baby,but I already have breastmilk….?

We put her to bed early because she missed 2 of her naps today. She only napped for about 30 minutes during her 2nd nap,which is normal 1 to 1 1/2 hours and completely missed her last nap which is usually what carries her over to help her make it to 7pm. 

So after my Dad left we bathed her and got her in bed by about 6:45. She went down great. No fuss whatsoever. But now she’ll randomly wake up and just whine. For maybe 15-30 seconds and then go back to sleep. I don’t understand it. My poor baby :(

but on a happy note! Her first Thanksgiving was great! Although she was a tad fussy during dinner because she missed her naps she enjoyed time with her Papaw and the yummy food. She got to eat turkey(her first time),green beans,corn and mashed potatoes. I would’ve given her some of the stuffing but it is REALLY high in sodium and salt,at least for a 8 month old. I’m making cherry pie tomorrow and may give her a sneak peek of that :) She had fun visiting with Papaw and listening to his funny noises. 

Also,side note. Jeremy told me she crawled today. I was in the bathroom getting ready and what not and they were hanging out on the bed listening to some kids music. I hear “AMBER AMBER BABY BABY COME IN HERE!”and i couldn’t hear what else so I thought she had like bonked her head or rolled off the bed and was profusely bleeding from her noggin or something. I rush in there and he goes “she crawled!!! She crawled a few feet to get to the laptop to hit it!” I was like no way! and apparently she did. We tried to get her to do it again but she of course,wouldn’t. But it’s improvement from crawling backwards! lol although,I hear crawling backwards is really good for their development. Whatever floats your boat kid. You’ll get around however you please.

Ah i love her. Hubby is at work preparing for tomorrow but when he gets home I plan on cuddling the crap out of him for being so awesome and helping today. Seriously,he was my Thanksgiving hero since this pregnant girl felt like crap.

anyways,this post has become pretty pointless and off the original topic.

Normally around 5:30/6ish she gets a little fussy. She starts realizing she’s getting slightly tired but bed time is an hour away.

But tonight she was SO happy. She was giggling and kicking her feet and getting so excited about nothing. It was SO cute.

we didn’t wanna start bath time and put her to bed. I just wanted to keep her up as late as possible playing and cuddling with her.

But at last we bathed her and got her into bed around 7:30. She went to bed great. I love my little girl and I love nights like these.

Her personality is so amazing.

And I can’t wait to see what kind of big sister she is. She’ll always be my little girl. My first born. The one who made me a mother.A dreamer. A cheerleader. And an overall better person.

She’s going to be amazing as a big sister and I can’t wait to see it<3
